The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is dedicated to the advancement of women's health care and provides continuing medical education, practice, research, and advocacy to its members. The Joint Commission offers Maternal Levels of Care Verification in collaboration with ACOG. This verification offers a program to facilities that provide obstetric and maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) care.

The Joint Commission has a strategic alliance with the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) to advance global healthcare quality and safety for all. The alliance is a powerful synergy with The Joint Commission’s leadership in enabling and affirming the highest standards of healthcare quality and patient safety in healthcare organizations, and NAHQ’s leadership in defining competencies and developing and certifying the healthcare quality workforce within those organizations.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

Since 2004, OSHA and The Joint Commission/Joint Commission Resources has maintained an Alliance which aims to provide healthcare organizations and other industry stakeholders with information, guidance, and access to resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, and understand the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Objectives include sharing information on OSHA's laws and standards, national initiatives, and opportunities to participate in initiatives and the rulemaking process.
