(MANCHESTER, New Hampshire and OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois, February 9, 2023) – Manchester Specialty Programs, Inc. and The Joint Commission today announced a newly expanded collaboration to provide insurance pricing benefits to medical staffing firms that have Health Care Staffing Services (HCSS) Certification from The Joint Commission, in addition to home care and hospice organizations.

Manchester Specialty offers a broad range of business insurance coverage for the medical staffing, home care and hospice industries, backed by a select group of highly rated insurance carriers. An important advantage to Joint Commission accredited and certified healthcare organizations working with Manchester is their ability to access this quality insurance program through their own local insurance agent or broker of choice.

Available coverage in its national program includes workers’ compensation, professional and general liability, as well as property, crime, non-owned auto, abuse coverage and cyber liability.

“We are pleased to provide eligible organizations with Health Care Staffing Services Certification from The Joint Commission with valuable insurance premium savings – helping to offset the cost of accreditation,” said Bill Thompson, president of Manchester Specialty. “Accreditation and certification are very positive underwriting attributes, which can translate into eligibility and pricing advantages,* including schedule credits on workers’ compensation and professional liability insurance premiums.”

“We appreciate Manchester Specialty for recognizing the value of Joint Commission accreditation and certification to help improve risk management through our performance improvement strategies and evidence-based standards,” said Brian Enochs, JD, executive vice president for Business Development and Marketing, The Joint Commission. “Both organizations are committed to highlighting the ‘crossroads of quality’ and recognizing those healthcare organizations that are making efforts to improve patient safety and quality of care through accreditation and certification.”

*Note: Each account must qualify on its own merit in the underwriting process, and where state regulators allow.
