Our Work

NQF, in partnership with The Joint Commission, rapidly implements next-generation measures and methods to improve patient safety and outcomes while reducing measurement burdens. Our work addresses critical issues like competing measures, costly data capture, and the need for impactful, patient-centered outcomes.

Highlights of NQF Current Programs & Initiatives

NQF is a proud affiliate of The Joint Commission, working together to reliably improve patient safety and achieve better outcomes while reducing measurement burden. Our partnership quickly moves next-generation measures and methods into practice through accreditation, certification, and other scaled initiatives that work through payers, purchasers, providers, and policymakers to directly improve patient care.

Measure Development

Aligned Innovation

Pioneering rapid cycle development of next generation healthcare quality measures that fill high priority gaps, reflect outcomes that matter most to patients and clinicians, and are needed for the success of value-based payment, population health and advancing health equity. This transformational approach to measure development solves stakeholders’ most significant pain points by establishing prospective multistakeholder alignment on priority measures, securing nationally representative provider participation in measure development and testing, surfacing and proactively addressing clinical and operational barriers to measure adoption and use, and completing the end-to-end development process in a two-year period.
