Our Team


The Membership Team supports NQF by recruiting new members, connecting members to existing engagement opportunities and by promoting an overall positive membership experience. Driven by NQF’s mission to develop multi-stakeholder consensus, the membership team strives to make sure all those stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem have a seat in conversations to improve healthcare quality. Our team members have experience supporting NQF’s past government and privately funded initiatives and can answer any questions about the organization’s portfolio of work.
Laura Blum Meisnere

Laura Blum Meisnere, MA

Laura Blum Meisnere is an accomplished healthcare policy leader with more than 25 years of experience developing, directing, and managing strategic policy initiatives. Currently, Laura serves as the Senior Director, Member Engagement at the National Quality Forum. Laura is part of a team whose shared passion is to make healthcare better, safer, more affordable and equitable.

Between 2009 and 2020, Laura served as the Vice President, Health Policy and the Director, Quality Improvement and Outcomes at the Heart Rhythm Society. Prior to her role at the Heart Rhythm Society, Laura was the Associate Director, Federal Relations at The Joint Commission. Earlier in her career, Laura oversaw standard development consensus projects at the National Quality Forum and worked at the American Medical Association at the newly formed National Patient Safety Foundation.

Laura holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in History and Women’s Studies.

Evelyn Thomas

Evelyn Thomas is a public health manager with 10 years of experience supporting healthcare efforts. Currently, Evelyn serves as a Manager, Member Engagement at the National Quality Forum. In this role Evelyn is part of a team that is committed to healthcare practices that improve safety, outcomes, affordability, and equity.

Prior to joining NQF, Evelyn served as a Community Outreach Specialist at the YMCA. In this role she developed partnerships with a range of stakeholders and organized efforts to improve alcohol and tobacco policy in Texas and New Mexico. Prior to that role, she served as a Legislative Aide for the Office of Senator Jose Rodriguez in the Texas Senate on an initiative to increase voter turnout among youth in West Texas. Additionally, Evelyn was a graduate fellow at the Center for Minority Veterans with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs in Washington, D.C.

Evelyn holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor in Health Promotion from the University of Texas in El Paso (UTEP). Evelyn has been a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)® since 2015 and currently serves as a board member and as a peer-reviewer at the Health Promotion Practice Journal (HPP).

Anisa Yusuf

Anisa Yusuf is a seasoned membership association professional with more than15 years of experience in providing data analytics to leverage membership recruitment, engagement and retention. Anisa currently serves as the Membership Manager at National Quality Forum with a dedicated team focused on improving healthcare outcomes, safety, equity and affordability.

Anisa’s membership experiences include management roles with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).

Anisa is a certified Medical Interpreter and provides interpreting & translation services to public health, immigration and education sectors in the DMV area.


Aaron White

Aaron White is an accomplished marketing and communications executive with more than 25 years of experience developing and managing comprehensive MarCom strategies and initiatives for international non-profit organizations. In his current role as the Managing Director of Marketing and Membership at the National Quality Forum Aaron leads a dynamic team of professionals focused on NQF’s mission to improve healthcare outcomes, safety, equity, and affordability.

Aaron’s non-profit experience includes leadership roles with the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Early in his career, Aaron developed his marketing, communications, and editorial skills in contributor roles with various publishing houses and marketing agencies.

Aaron holds a Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the Catholic University of America. He earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degree from Bloomsburg State University in English Literature and Journalism, where he also minored in Political Science.
